For years I’ve frequented a little cafe in my neighborhood called Penelope. I go there for the food of coarse, which is fabulous but it’s also for the esthetics. Penelope has a vintage vibe without being heavy handed. There is restraint taken regarding decor and as a result the dining room feels clean and airy. Determined to take a little piece of Penelope home with me I drew on it as inspiration for my new kitchen. Perhaps one of the most apparent traits of this charming neighborhood hot spot is the demure blue paint color used throughout. I inquired about that iconic shade and Benjamin Moore’s Bashful Blue finished off my cooking corner quite nicely. Now if I could only make a chicken curry that even comes close to there delightful recipe.
